Crescent Moon

Crescent moon comes out
To play at dusk
A little more reserved

Cautiously
She dips herself in the water
And dance in shimmering gown with the fountain

The purple clouds notices
She isn’t in her full glory
Why dance
When you aren’t as beautiful anymore

She smiles
A different shape
But the same brilliance
For beauty shines
From the inside

Patiently
She waits for the river of time
To wash her clean of her shadows
And let her shine again

The clouds parted
As she dances
As the wind sings
To the applause of the twinkling stars
From all over the milky way

The crescent moon looks gorgeous tonight,
so I thought I’d write something romantic about it.
Beauty comes in all shapes and brightness.
